envelopes from michael.

some of you may recall how incredibly creative/romantic/cute my boyfriend is...
and how we are doing long distance for 2.5 months while i'm in istanbul...

let me just say, it's hard. so so hard. i'm really trying to soak up all that istanbul (and the summer camp) have to offer...
but i miss mike so much, my heart hurts. a lot.

but when my dearest sends me things like this in the mail, it makes my heart feel much better:

..........................................................................................................................................................
an envelope for each day i'm at camp.
(to give myself a little credit, the night before i left, i stayed up until 3am making mike an envelope for every day i'm gone.
oh we're good to each other.)
oh i love him. very very much.

photo swap {delicious autumn}

you may remember me mentioning that
i am a proud participant in
rhianne's photo swap.

my partner beth received my roll of film,
so i can finally post the fruits of my labour!

she scanned all my pictures here,
{please ignore that headshot of me.
i had to use up the last shot!
should've taken a picture of my dog..or something!}

but i also took digital shots of everything
and made it into a little easy-to-read collage!

Delicious Autumn!
My very soul is wedded to it,
and if I were a bird,
I would fly about the earth
seeking the successive autumns
-George Eliot

can't wait to get beth's roll of film...should be coming any day!

pretty envelopes + kind postal workers.

so i really really love getting mail.
but i almost like sending mail just as much.
especially when i have time to spruce up the envelopes like this:
why just stuff your beautiful card in a boring old envelope
when you can throw a leaf on it?

for some reason,
i am always a little nervous when i slide my decorated envelopes
to the postal worker across the counter.
{maybe the leaves/pictures will fall off?
stick to other envelopes?
maybe the postal service dislikes nonconformity?}

today however,
i was delighted when the postal worker slapped the custom sticker
on the back of the envelope so that it wouldn't
"ruin the front"
excellent!
