These past few days, Mike and I have popped into quite a few antique/vintage/thrift shops. We have come out empty handed, but the unusual items often prompt interesting conversations. Or in the case of of the toy periscope, we spent about ten minutes taking cool photos with it.

My dear friend Kari got married this past October. My darling, talented fiancé shot the wedding and here, my friends, are the beautiful photographs!

I realize this photo collage is a bit of a mishmash, but who can blame me when I happen to be in some of the photos and I find every single one so beautiful I could cry? Kari and Justin are just so gorgeous, stylish, and absolutely meant for each other. And Michael continually blows me away with his creativity, composition, and editing.

in my absence, my boyfriend mike has been going to a lot of my family's functions without me. a little while ago, he went to my nephew's birthday party. i just about died when i received these photos from him - aren't they incredible?!

kari's wedding shower.

last week, my beautiful friend kari had a wedding shower. my oh my...it was the loveliest shower i have ever been to.

i am so beside myself excited for the wedding this fall! some of my very best friends are in the wedding party + my boyfriend is shooting the wedding. plus, justin & kari are hilarious and stylish. it's gearing up to be the best wedding ever (after my own one day, i suppose!)

also, i realize i have been rather absent as of late. sorry sorry sorry! my turkish summer adventure is coming up SO SOON and i always seem to have a million + one things to do! but i promise to be a better blogger while i'm gone! i can't wait to share it all with you! (exclamation marks flying all over the place!)

our last night in saskatoon, we all went to a piano bar. it turned out to be the perfect opportunity to mess around with my camera...flash + sloooow shutter speed + a lot of waving the camera around provided us with a great deal of entertainment. (apparently called "slow sync flash"...who knew?)

watching middle aged people drink a lot and dance around also provided a great deal of entertainment...

i have a boyfriend who takes photographs.

sometimes these photographs are of me + are so darn pretty,

they make me feel pretty.

prior to dating mike, i had never really thought about how darn amazing it would be to date a photographer.

but guess what, it is!

he is very patient with me as i take billions of pictures

("just one more! i promise!")

and takes a billion himself

and teaches me how to use my camera manually

and gives me little photoshop lessons

and lets me watch him edit wedding photos

(as i sit there in amazement)

and together we photo document everything!

it is such a huge bonus on top of what an amazing person mike is

and how he makes me melt into a puddle of happiness on a continual basis.

i am so happy + blessed + crazily in love with this man!
