My friends and I had our first Book Club meeting yesterday. It's about time that I'm in a book club. I've been dying to be in a book club since I was probably seven years old!
We met yesterday to discuss the structure & how it was going to work. We're going to meet once a month and take turns picking books. First up:
Sarah's Key!
I would love to be in a book club! I'm going to have to get one started! :)
ReplyDeletemy friends and i had a book club/writing club a while back. now i see we'll have to get that started again! what a lovely idea.

{pee ess: i'm swooning over those cupcakes.}
I have always always wanted to be in a book club. I tried to get it going in my small town but no one wanted to commit. Maybe I'll have better luck in my new town
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, a book club sounds like so much fun! :)
ReplyDeleteTalking about books over food that looks like THAT sounds like the best thing.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! This Summer with a couple of friends I'll be doing a really chill book club. It's so exciting...for what is better than reading and then discussing it?!

I love your blog and your pictures - and I don't know if I've commented before, but you are darling and classy and ps. I really enjoyed Sarah's Key. You should watch the movie at some point after, too. Really well done!
ReplyDeletesarah's key is amazing! i didn't think the movie would do the book justice but it's aaaalmost as good. love that story!
ReplyDeletexo the egg out west.
i want to be in your bookclub! i might be a long distance member ;)
ReplyDeleteyahoo!! love that these photos are from the meeting for the book club! can't wait to see what it looks like once it gets going! i am part of a blogger/book club and it's so much fun. most of my friends & fam don't read the books i like- so it's great to have a meeting of the minds with fellow feminist/book lovers!

ReplyDeleteI too have always wanted to be in a book club. It's such a cheap and easy way to have an excuse to get together. And if everyone brings homemade cupcakes too then that's my heaven!

ReplyDeleteBook clubs...want to join one! I love reading :)
some of my high school friends started a book club once. at the second meeting, when we were to discuss the book we had read, i was the only one who actually read it. needless to say it didn't last very long, haha!

ReplyDeleteAh, gosh, it's such a sweet inspiration to see a group of (I may be jumping to this conclusion) powerful, delightful women come together to chat literature. I mean, hells yeah. I very sincerely can't really imagine finding the time to commit to reading on someone else's schedule, but gosh I'd like to be a part of a book club.
ReplyDeletelooks like such a fun book club! :)
ReplyDeleteso glad you left a comment on my blog, so i could discover yours! it's so lovely.
Hello !
ReplyDeleteI've been lurking around your blog for ages, and just wanted to say thank you for sharing all of this with us - your photographs and the stories behind them always make me feel so happy. Hopefully you'll see me commenting here a bit more often !
Also those nibbles look delicious... friends, foods, and books, what more does one need ?
(on a completely unrelated note... you used to have a food blog on your "favorites" collection but it is no longer there. I bloody loved it but can't remember its name ! Can you help me ?)
@amani: ah yes! it was "smitten kitchen" - the best food blog out there, in my humble opinion :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun! I wish I belonged to a book club :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have come across your blog...it's stunning.
