I know that it's not polite to invite yourself over for supper. But when you've been invited over already, I figure it's not too presumptuous to suggest a potluck. So I did. It spun into a happy mish-mash of dishes (all a bit carb heavy), shared amongst friends.
And then - the Christmas tree burning. I don't think it's a popular activity, but it should be. The smell of those pine needles crackling in the fire is just out of this world.
It makes a wee bit of a mess and the flames occasionally got a bit out of control, but still highly recommended.
I've never heard the burning the tree method! Sounds nice. Kind of wish I had a fireplace...
ReplyDeleteLove these photos! DId it smell nicely?
ReplyDeletelooks like fun! i think i'll have to get a real tree next year just for this adventure :))

ReplyDeletebeautiful. why don't we all burn our christmas trees, instead of leaving them out for the garbage man??
ReplyDeleteoh man...such a good idea! if only we had a fireplace. next house we'll make that a requirement. :)
ReplyDeleteWE've been burning our garland in the fire and it is pretty amazing. Looks like a lovely time!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun excuse to have a potluck!
ReplyDeletei've decided potlucks are the new dinner party!
ReplyDeleteThis is why we need a fireplace!
ReplyDeleteSounds & looks like a great time. :-)
Hmm I love carb heavy food, looks like a lot of fun! I've always wondered where all those trees go after Christmas, it's not a tradition here to have a tree in every home, burning sounds like a good idea.
ReplyDeletecan't beat a potluck, no ma'am. and a pine-scented fire sounds perfect on this rainy afternoon.
ReplyDeleteoh goodness, why am i just now stumbling across your blog. these images are just beautiful! and next year i'll definitely have to participate in this burning of the christmas tree. it just sounds so enticing!!
