Mike and I spent a day in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). I know that's not really long enough to get a feel for the city, but it's just what worked best for our trip. HCMC was a bustling place, and I honestly found it a bit overwhelming. Crossing the street as hundreds of motorcycles and scooters whipped past was no easy feat (Mike enjoyed the challenge immensely!).

We were happy to stumble upon two neat shops during our brief stay:
1. Artbook - a very cool bookstore with a nice selection of art as well. We picked up a photograph and a neat calendar there.

2. L'usine - a hip little shop/restaurant. We had some lasagna there which was a nice break from typical Asian cuisine! :)

    1. hmm! well, if we had been there longer, we would've done a day trip out to the mekong delta. that would've been neat. there wasn't anything else in HCMC i was dying to see, but i'm sure there are all sorts of diamond in the ruff kind of spots to check out. there were other places in vietnam we wanted to see more of (like hoi an - coming up next!), so we prioritized with those places.

  14. I love these pictures! It's a shame you couldn't stay longer but for me, Vietnam is a country I'd love to visit multiple times. Especially Hoi An. Saigon was great, but Hoi An rocked!
