This past weekend, we went strawberry picking at our friends farm. It was very hot in the sun as we were picking the strawberries, but we then cooled down by putting our feet in the river. My friends, I love summer!

  2. I've always wanted to go strawberry picking but I'm never sure when the fields are open for business. The Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble sounds delicious! The light in these photos seems so perfect for summer!

  20. Hi Janis! This is the first time I've commented on your blog, and I just want to say that I love it!! I'm not a blogger myself, but my sister Oriana is. Her blog is Pieces of a Real Heart. So, this is the only blog I really unofficially "follow" and it's so inspiring! Visiting Winnipeg is now on the bucket list!:)
Btw,would you happen to know how your friend did her dreads? Hers are some of the best looking I've seen and I'm looking into getting some after I grow my hair out. (I have short hair too!)
Thanks and good talk'n with ya <3

    1. Hi Heather! I wrote my friend Laurel and asked about her dreads. Here is her response:

"I think the trick with my dreads is that we didn't dread up the tips or burn them so they look a little softer. They are also smaller in size. Friends of mine did them and we did them as natural as we could just back combing and rolling. I also roll them pretty much every time I wash them. I get a friend to crochet them every once in a while as well! I use knotty boy wax and shampoo."

      Hope that helps!
