11/2/11

I'm excited to share our wedding favours today. We were so happy with how they turned out, so I wanted to just quickly explain them.

For our favours, we gave each person a film canister filled with skittles (purple package - our fave!). Mike designed paper that fit perfectly into a film cassette We wrote each guest at our wedding a little note and would it up in the cassette.

We initially saw the idea here. And we bought the film cassettes here (although, it looks like they maybe don't sell them anymore. Shame, because it was almost impossible to find them online in the first place!)

Here are also what our menus and wedding programs looked like. Mike also designed a ton of other stuff for the wedding (like little signs for the sparklers, the photobooth, the gift table etc), but we unfortunately don't have pictures of them.

Some of you may remember that we sent out our save-the-dates on vintage postcards. We decided to do something similar with our wedding thank yous. While in Hawaii, we picked up a bunch of faux-vintage postcards and brought them home with us. Everyone seemed happy to get a little Hawaiian sunshine in their mailbox :)

Well, that's it for wedding details! Have a great weekend!

  8. Wonderful!

    I have so many questions,
    where to begin?

Did Mike hand draw all the little pictures (including the ones you have on the pictures from this entire week, or are those done on the computer? Illustrator? I have to say I LOVED all of them, very cute;)

Oh, does Mike use a tablet? or does he scan his work. I need to get better at using my tablet, haha!

Also, is the writing done by hand? If so, he has the most steady hand I've ever seen, especially on those menus, wow!

Okay, I won't bore you with a million questions, I just love you guys!!!

    Kim, xo

I love all your questions! Here goes:

    - All the little pictures on the post this week were clipart Mike had found online. He made them all white in photoshop & plunked 'em in. However, for lots of the stuff for the wedding (like those little drawings you can see on the programs & the brass animal drawings for the seating chart) he drew & then scanned in. No tablet!

    - I don't think any of the writing is done by hand. That really skinny font used all over the place is "strange love".

Feel free to ask more questions any time :) Love you too!
