Here's a little peak at some of the wedding décor projects we've been working on. I want to show even more, but I feel like I should demonstrate a little restraint!

My friends have been so lovely, helpful, and amazingly generous with their time throughout this whole process. For various reasons, we chose not to have a wedding party. The decision has simplified things in a lot of ways (don't have to worry about bridesmaid dresses! or flowers! or awkward group photos with twelve people!) but I was a bit worried that I would be stranded doing a million of DIY projects alone. My friends have jumped in with no hesitation - title or no title, they just want to help. I could almost cry just thinking about it. Seriously, so grateful.

Thank you friends!

  9. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I found your blog through the Kinfolk site, it's so nice to see a beautiful Winnipeg-based blog (I'm from Brandon). In fact, I'll be in the city for a wedding next weekend. I'm looking forward to being back!

  11. We also didn't have a wedding party for some of the same reasons! People thought it was so weird, but it was perfect for us. I don't know what I would have done without extra making hands from friends..it really makes the whole experience! Looks so exciting so far

  19. Looks like a great bunch of friends to have!

Janis, I've just recently come across your blog in the last week and like a total creeper, I've read all the posts from the start. It was lovely to come across the blog and know you're planning your wedding but to go back to the start when Mike wasn't even mentioned. It was just like reading a story and knowing the ending but not knowing all the hows and whys.

I'm looking forward to reading more. Good luck with all the wedding planning. x

  21. This post makes me seriously want to plan something. Would it be weird to do a giant vow renewal for an eighth anniversary? I mean, eight is an important number in some culture right? Fantastic pictures!
