step. step. step.
so thesoso the boyfriend is leaving for thailand tomorrow. while i'm going to miss him terribly, this is obviously going to be an amazing adventure! there's really nothing quite like traveling - refreshes + energizes, gives you new perspective, broadens your horizons, challenges you, pushes you, and is a crazy amount of fun as an added bonus! i think it's so important to experience what it's like to be in a completely strange city all by yourself...you're forced to learn heaps about yourself - tough but amazing.
my friend kd & i are hoping to have our own crazy traveling adventure this summer. we're applying to work at a summer camp in istanbul! I KNOW - crazy! so fingers crossed!
came across this quote last night as i was thinking about mike leaving....
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
amen!
bon voyage michael!!

in response to your comment:
ReplyDeletevoyeurism is more colloquially a term used especially in today's society that describes the obsession with documenting and observing the lives of others, especially from an outsiders perspective, or with a kind of "candid" quality.
also, yes - you may use it!
(mais, peut-etre ajouter mon nom a titre de credit? ...excuser mon mauvais français.)
