the project that never ends...

i have a combined final creative project for two of my classes that is dragging out into eternity.
but today, i finally finished part of it...the felt board!
i am seriously indebted to mike who helped cut out little animals
+ didn't mind when i came over with a huge bag bursting of felt + hot glue guns.

however, i still have so much to do...
i realized today that this little calvin + hobbes snippet basically sums up my attitude towards school work:

Calvin: I work better under pressure.
Hobbes: Actually, you work only under pressure.
Calvin: That way, the work time is more miserable, but there's less of it.

well, best get back to work! ciao!

ps. thank you for the birthday wishes yesterday - it was a lovely day! i will post pictures of mike's romantic little birthday surprise for me soon...

istanbul!

well my friends, you may (or may not) remember me mentioning that my dear friend kd & i had applied to work at an AMAZING summer camp in istanbul this summer...

WELL - i am thrilled to report that we both found out today we are HIRED! HIIIYYYA! our job officially starts june 20th, but we are going to do a little european traveling for two weeks before that (HELLO ITALY & GREECE) with my dear british friend pip!

if any of you have travel suggestions re: istanbul/italy/greece, i would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear them!

if you don't hear from me for a few days, i may have drowned in my lonely planet books.

what a rad way to start the weekend! this day could only get better if my very pregnant sister-in-law had my beautiful nephew to be! YAHOO!

(OH I CAN'T WAIT TO SHARE MY OWN BEAUTIFUL ISTANBUL SUMMER PHOTOS WITH YOU MY DEAR BLOG READERS! THIS IS GOING TO BE EPIC!)

XOXO

winter is beautiful but i'm ready for it to be over...

truly. even if march is typically pretty wintry in winnipeg, it still SOUNDS a bit more spring-like. can't wait!

a few weeks ago, i ventured out into the frosty winter wonderland of winnipeg and took these pictures with my digital camera & the following pictures with dear holga. i love love love how these turned out - they are just so stark & moody! unfortunately the most recent holga rolls have been a bit of a disappointment AGAIN - but i guess as long as i get pictures like these even once and awhile, i'll be happy...
