This was my favourite day in California. Something about cliffs, sandy beaches, and the ocean just pulls at my heart.

It was a bit surreal to splash in the waves with Kylie. I'd seen photos of her doing so many times in Hawaii... and here she was beside me! I'm happy I got the chance to do so.

We spent a few sunny (hot!) days exploring LA with Kim, Andre, Spencer and Kylie. They took us to some really great spots and we ate amazing food. I must admit, I'm missing North American food a bit right now, so I can barely look at these food photos...

Some more photos here.

Before heading out to Korea, we spent a few beautiful days in LA. Kim and Andre were amazing hosts!  So happy that blogging brought us together & allowed us to have such a fun trip!

We headed to Santa Monica beach one night. Winnipeg is about as far from the ocean as you can get, so it always feels like such a treat to dip my toes into the salty water.

dinner at oddfellows.
My last west coast post and my favourite for two reasons. Reason number one: just look at this place. Funky, eclectic magnificence. Incredible attention to detail abounded at every turn - the cash register, the antiques scattered across the restaurant, the citrus wedges at the bar, the place settings, and the fresh flowers everywhere.

Mike and I talked about how neat it would be to decorate and design a place like this - similar to decorating and designing a wedding but more permanent (and while it seems unimaginable to me right now, it would be way more work!). Hats off to whoever decorated this place.

Reason number two: We had a blogger meet-up at this restaurant (my first)! We grabbed some supper with Julia and Yuriy of Mr and Mrs Globetrot. I was very nervous beforehand - it honestly felt like a first date. But I felt comfortable instantly - they were so sweet and funny. We all had heaps to talk about between traveling, photography, and weddings. We liked them so much! It's highly unfortunate that we don't even live in the same country.
Thanks for sticking through all these west coast posts (and for being so complimentary!). Life got so crazy right after we came back, so it took me a bit longer to get through them than I anticipated. I don't say it often enough, but thank you so much for reading & for continually sending sweetness my way.

xoxo
