While in Kihei, Maui, our condo was across the street from a beach. Occasionally we crossed the street, just in time for the 6.30 pm sunset. There's nothing really like a sunset over the ocean, and inevitably we would begin plotting ways to live close to an ocean and in a warmer climate.
We usually discuss: Vancouver (still too cold in the winter and not enough sunshine), California (sunny, but tricky with visas), Australia (free healthcare!, but very far away from our families). We'll see where we end up in coming years, but it really would be most ideal if California or Hawaii simply became part of Canada. Pourquoi pas? ;)

ReplyDeletethis post is essentially the conversation alex and i have every day. we've been figuring out how to make it to california. neither of us has been to australia, so it would be silly to say we want to live there, but it sounds good on paper. i gather it's more difficult than it seems. my friend just moved there and got engaged... but, i suppose it's too late to go that route for us now! let me know if your scheming gets your anywhere.
ReplyDeletep.s. i have that lost tour pinned http://pinterest.com/send_postcards/hawaii/ ! are you going to post about it? i want to know if it was worth it.

ReplyDeletethat's what so exciting about this time in your life - you can decide where to go and live without worrying about anything. I've had many of the same discussions with hubby, often on trips such as these where we are sitting alone, on a beach (usually kauai), and pondering about life.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so gorgeous! They make me want to take the time to make my own that much more perfect. =) Thank you for sharing!!
