While on the west coast, Mike and I ducked down to Seattle for a day and a half. The trip was too short, but definitely worth our while.
The last time I was in Seattle, it had been sunny and hot (unusual). This time it was rainy and chilly (the usual). Mike and I had quite a few discussions concerning the gloomy weather throughout the course of our trip. While Winnipeg is cold and snowy for months, it is the second sunniest city in Canada. The continuous rain and overcast skies of the west coast would be something to get used to.
Regardless of the weather, we wandered around downtown and Pike's Place market happily. My favourite things to see were the blossoming trees, buckets of fresh flowers, and the busy market.

same! I have been to Seattle twice and it was beautiful and warm both times, my husband and I are going in a week and I'm preparing myself for rain. Glad you enjoyed it!

ReplyDeletehave you ever wondered what life would be like if Mike hadn't bought that scarf? :)
ReplyDeleteit rained the entire time i was there. i thought portland was bad, and then i found myself thankful that wasn't that bad!
ReplyDeleteseriously, how do you make your pictures so dreamy?! i just want to crawl in them and be there with ya'll!
oh, and in response to your question awhile back.. my husband is studying mortuary science to be a funeral director (weird.. i know) and i'm currently leaning toward a marketing major. i have history of changing my major, so i'm sure that will be the case again!
Oh I just love these pictures - so much more than vacation snapshots. They actually feel like an experience!
ReplyDeleteThe gloomy certainly gets to me here in Portland (did you make it down for a visit?). It's dangerous to visit when it's sunny thought - because it is the best place ever!
Once again, jealous! Seattle-regardless of the rain-is so beautiful! The market is always a stop for me, and I love the little record stores, book stores and coffee shops you a little ways from downtown. It's also really magical a Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteLove how your pictures always have this "lightness of being" feeling to them.
ReplyDeletei have always wanted to see seattle...i don't think my curly hair would agree with me though haha
ReplyDeletethe market looks phemonenal
wow- your photos makes seattle look very appealing despite the weather x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! You really captured Seattle.
ReplyDeleteHooray for Seattle! Was really looking forward to these so I could see what you saw in our city. You get used to the rain and appreciate the sun SO MUCH MORE. Every sunny day, everyone rushes outside and the city and parks are busy and jolly. Seriously. It's really neat.
