Well, I don't know what to say about my blogging absence. I guess I could say we were enjoying the sweet summer days and I didn't feel like picking up the camera. But here I am again!

We had an impromptu evening in Sarah's sunroom last night. It's been hot as blazes lately, but it's well worth it by the time the evening rolls around. Nothing quite like a warm summer evening.

The school year ends today which means I'm officially finished subbing for this season of my life. A good experience, but I'm looking forward to a laid back summer! I'll be doing some nannying for a family nearby and getting ready for... well, hopefully I can tell you about that soon*.

xo.

I graduated this past weekend. Two degrees - done! It's a bit surreal to think that I am now a real teacher. However, I have been subbing for the last month and a half (ie. no longer teaching for free!), so that has helped solidify the concept in my mind.

You may be wondering - where is the token grad photo with Mike? With my Mom? Excellent questions. I'm afraid to say there aren't any since I accidentally booked a subbing gig for that afternoon. I had to sneak out of my grad ceremony early just to make it in time. Ha! I'm usually a bit more organized, but oh well.

That evening we went out for Indian with my family (and Mike's parents!) to celebrate. The Indian didn't go over too well with the little guys, so we went out for ice cream too. These little people bring so much joy in my life.

I owe my family, especially my Mom and Mike, a big thank you for all the support they have given me during these past six years of university!

Our good friends (finally!) came back from Europe and we were (finally!) able to have a proper spring barbecue with them. They've obviously been missing out (here, here, here).

Happy weekend! We're heading out of town for my cousin's wedding. Have a feeling we'll be listening to this a few times while on the road! ;)

Monday was a holiday and my friends and I had plans to go the beach. Unfortunately, the forecast got progressively worse and worse so we decided to stay in the city. Usually that would be a huge disappointment, but delicious snacks and dutch blitz in the park was a pretty good alternate.

While the boys tended the fire, us ladies went down by the riverside. We tried making flowered crowns (without much success) and enjoyed the soft, pretty light.

Another weekend, another barbecue. This time we went to a park not too far from our house. I didn't live in this area of the city before moving in with Mike, so I am still uncovering cool new spots. We managed to snag a picnic table overlooking the river, right next to a fire pit. I think we'll be back soon.

Saturday was such a beautiful sunny day. It seemed a shame to stay indoors, so a group of us helped Cayleen re-do her sidewalk (Mike was a huge help, me... not so much). We then treated ourselves to a fabulous barbecue outside at Assiniboine Park.

Being cooped up all winter makes me appreciate spring and summer all the more. I was in a happy, sun-soaked euphoria all weekend!
